Business drivers such as volume growth has put more pressure on BD’s DC capacity at Temse. Consequently, this creates operational challenges on both performance and safety every day. Since safety is top priority within BD, a circulation plan must be initiated in order to identify these potential safety issues.
Solution
Together with BD a new warehouse lay-out has been designed. During this design all the relevant logistic flows have been analyzed as well as the operational processes in the warehouse. Several logistic solutions have been evaluated with the goal to maximize the safety based on the available space and to improve the operational efficiency.
