How can we help you?
Sustainable distribution center Vos Logistics
Vos Logistics is a specialist provider of transport and logistics services throughout the whole of Europe, with 3,000 employees working across its network of 30 different locations. The company has a modern fleet of 1,400 Euro 5 and Euro 6 trucks, 4,000 loading units and 300,000m2 of warehousing capacity. Construction work recently started on a new, sustainable distribution center (DC) at the De Geer industrial park in Oss, the Netherlands. This expansion project will give Vos Logistics an extra 25,000m2 of storage capacity, bringing the total to 340,000m2. The new DC and office building is being constructed in line with the BREEAM Excellent certification.
Brigitte de Ruijter, Project Manager at Vos Logistics, comments: “The addition of the new distribution center in Oss, which is located close to the A50/A59 motorway interchange and the inland terminal in Oss, will enable us to facilitate our growth. In combination with our own fleet for both B2B and B2C deliveries, we can continue to offer our customers fast, efficient and reliable total solutions.”
Groenewout is involved in the realization of this new DC for Vos Logistics in Oss in terms of both managing the overall design project and contracting the construction company and the investor.
Groenewout’s consultants have already started drawing up a Program of Requirements. Besides that, Groenewout has worked on the design of the DC, the building-related technical systems and the infrastructure in collaboration with the architect E & V Architectuur & Bouwtechniek and with other design partners. Simultaneously with the permit application process, a tender was issued as the basis for selecting the construction company and the investor for the DC.
After the construction company (Burgland Bouw) and the investor (GLP) had been chosen, building work started on the DC in November 2020. Groenewout is monitoring the planning and the quality. The firm is also ensuring the necessary alignment between Burgland Bouw, GLP and Vos Logistics right up until Burgland Bouw hands over to Vos Logistics and Vos Logistics hands over to GLP.
The new DC is expected to be completed by the end of Q3/2021 and Vos Logistics will go live with its logistics operation this October.
